Answer :

Lysosomes are single membrane bound cellular organelles.


They possess many hydrolytic enzymes that destroy any foreign material inside the cell such as bacteria. It also digests poorly working cell organelles.
So, they are also known as suicide bags. In these processes, they remove the cell debris.

As lysosomes remove unnecessary particles and organelles from cell hence they are called as scavengers of the cells.
