Question :

Why does the temperature remain constant during change of state of matter even though heat is supplied continuously?Submitted on 20/8/2024 | Answered by Vandana Rana

Answer :

During a change of state, the heat energy is used to break the intermolecular forces and attraction forces within the substance.
For example, when water boils, the heat increases the kinetic energy of the water particles, which breaks the bonds between them and allows them to move more freely and become gas.
Because the heat is used up in this process, the temperature remains constant, even though heat is continuously being supplied
