1. Amoeba is a unicellular organism that has the ability to change its shape.
2. Amoeba also called as amoeboid.
3. They are microscopic, unicellular, eukaryotic organisms mostly found near ponds and lakes.
4. These eukaryotic organisms consist of cytoplasm, food vacuoles, nucleus, and finger-like projections called pseudopodia.
5. The pseudopodia are the temporary arm-like projection in amoeba which helps in capturing its food, changing its size and shape, and also as a locomotion organ.
6. An Amoeba obtains its food by holozoic mode of nutrition and the process is called phagocytosis.
7. The complete process of phagocytosis includes – Ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation, and egestion
