How are involuntary actions and reflex actions different from each other?

Answer :

1) INVOLUNTARY ACTIONS:

a. It is a set of muscles movement over which we do not have any control. such actions are controlled by the brain.

b. It does not require stimulus .

c. It is relatively slow process.


For example, contractions of muscles of our digestive tract, the beating of Heart etc.



2) REFLEX ACTIONS:

a. It is a rapid, spontaneous and involuntary activity that is produced in response to the stimulus.

b. It is controlled by the spinal cord.



For example, removal of hand with a jerk when someone touches a hot object.
